Teaching Webinar: Guiding Principles for
Advocating for Political Science
Thursday, October 23, 2025 | 2:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M. ET
Join us for a training webinar on how you can be a more effective advocate for political science.
Whether you are advocating from home, or making plans to advocate on Capitol Hill, this webinar aims to equip attendees with the necessary tools to advocate for research and education in support of the discipline of political science and to demystify the process of communicating with legislators and other decision-makers.
Panelists include: Wendy Naus, Executive Director of the Consortium of Social Science Associations (COSSA), and (moderator) Ben Goodrich of the American Political Science Association(APSA).
Participants will be invited to learn effective strategies to perform advocacy and will have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A discussion.
Please direct any questions here.
The American Political Science Association (APSA) Advocacy Program advances the discipline of political science by educating policy makers and the citizenry about political science scholarship and education. APSA seeks to increase federal support for basic and applied political science research, to promote independent peer review, and to advocate for academic freedom. Opt-in to get the latest here.
