Alum Christian Trujillo recognized during Homecoming – News

The Department of Politics and Government welcomed alum Christian Trujillo ’18 during 2025 Homecoming. Trujillo serves as an associate attorney at Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered, where he focuses on general tort defense, commercial litigation, premises liability, and contract and consumer fraud claims.
Trujillo graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Spanish, and legal studies. He was a member of the Student Government Association, studied abroad in Granada, Spain, and participated in intramural ultimate frisbee.
After graduating from Illinois State, Trujillo attended Chicago-Kent College of Law from 2019-2021, where he participated in the criminal litigation program and various student organizations such as the Hispanic Latinx Law Student Association (HLLSA) and the Federalist Society. He also completed an internship at the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office as a qualified law student under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711.
Trujillo began working as an assistant state’s attorney after graduating and passing the bar exam. There, he earned regular hands-on courtroom experience with a wide variety of cases, including those relating to minor and major traffic violations, DUI, domestic battery offenses, and felony probation violations.
